MISSING: Kansas mom, pastor’s wife, disappears en route to Birmingham

Police in multiple jurisdictions are looking for a 36-year-old Kansas woman who vanished on her way to Birmingham, Alabama.

Marilane Carter, 26, was last seen leaving her Overland Park home at around 8:15 p.m on Saturday, on her way to visit her family in Birmingham, the Overland Park Police Department said.

Her family last heard from her by phone late Sunday, when she was in Memphis, Tennessee. Police said she has made some concerning statements to family members.

Carter is described as 5-foot-8, 130-pounds, white with long brown hair and green eyes. She was wearing a green t-shirt and black yoga pants when she left home.

She was driving a gray 2011 GMC Acadia with Kansas license plate 194-LFY.

The Alabama Baptist reported that Carter is a graduate of Beeson Divinity School at Samford University in Birmingham. Her husband Adam is lead pastor at Leawood Baptist Church in Leawood, Kansas. The couple has three young children.
