Panaji, Aug 24: Four girls who were forced into prostitution were rescued by the Porvorim police. The victims belonged to Mumbai, Delhi, and West Bengal.

The covert operation against the sex trade also led the police to two pimps. Posing as a fake customer the cops managed to dupe the pimps. The 'customer' negotiated with the pimps, the time and place of delivery for the four girls.

The officials were able to arrest the pimps when they delivered the girls at a hotel in Pilerne. According to the cops, the accused were virtually living off the prostitution racket.

The accused have been booked and further investigation is underway.
