FORMER England cricket Captain David Gower will embark on his debut solo UK live tour this spring, taking in one venue near his Hampshire home.

On The Front Foot will be at Nuffield Southampton Theatres City on April 4.

Often described as one of the most stylish left handed batsmen of all time, the blonde haired 80’s bombshell and Sky Sports Cricket lead anchor will share his thoughts on 2019 - a year that promises to go down in history with the ICC Cricket World Cup and The Ashes on the horizon - both of which are being battled out on UK soil.

Daily Echo:

Expect tales of Gower’s own sporting career, from captaining his national team to victory in the Ashes to memories such as flying that Tiger Moth over Queensland, in the first opportunity to see Gower live on stage since his hugely successful joint tour with Chris Cowdrey in 2017.

David Gower is one of England cricket’s finest ever captains and players. He played 117 Test Matches and 114 One Day Internationals (ODI) scoring 8,231 and 3,170 runs respectively along the way. He is England’s sixth highest capped Test player and fourth highest Test run scorer of all time.

Now a broadcaster and journalist, David’s main job is to present and commentate on Sky’s coverage of international cricket. David spent five years as a commentator for BBC TV, also presenting Gower’s Cricket Monthly and David Gower’s Cricket Weekly on BBC 5Live. During this time David was team captain opposite Gary Lineker on BBC TV’s hit show They Think It’s All Over. After two years as the Sunday Express cricket correspondent, and two more as a columnist for the Sunday Telegraph he then wrote a well-received column for the Sunday Times for ten years.
