IF YOU are a master at solving complicated puzzles and beating the clock then Southampton's newest escape room will be the perfect attraction for you.

The new escape room by the brand Locked in a Room is soon to officially open its new site in Portland Terrace near the service yard by West Quay Shopping Centre

The 4,000 sq ft unit will be the brands fifth escape room in the UK, on top of its outlets in London, Bristol, Milton Keynes, and Center Parcs.

Locked in a Room uses props, theming and effects in their escape rooms to deliver guests an immersive experience.

The unit will be able to accommodate up to 48 people at a time and it also has a number of identical rooms to allow larger groups to compete simultaneously.

Locked in a Room was identified in the Savills and LPF Competitive Socialising research as being one of the UK’s top three operators to watch in the escape room sector.

Mark Talbot, director of Locked In A Room, said: “We’re delighted to be opening in Westquay.

"Having successfully opened sites in London, Milton Keynes, Bristol and Center Parcs, Southampton was one of our main targets.

"Westquay is the perfect location for us, as it’s the region’s major shopping destination, and already has a great range of leisure options. We can’t wait to open our doors.”

Iain Mitchell, UK commercial director at Hammerson, said: “We know that more and more people are looking for unforgettable experiences when they go shopping, so we’re delighted that Locked In A Room will be opening at Westquay.

"They’ll bring something new and fresh to our already strong leisure offering at the centre, and will really complement the likes of Showcase Cinema de Lux and Hollywood Bowl.”
