HAVING become tired of dating apps, a Hampshire veterinary nurse assistant has appeared on a TV show in her search for love.

Sarah Gold will feature in the latest series of Channel 5’s Blind Date in a bid to find her perfect match, with the help of host Paul O’Grady.

The part-time model and actress applied for the show last year when she saw applications were open.

“I was single and wanted to find someone, I’ve tried all sorts like Tinder and haven’t had much like with it all,” said Sarah, who works at Walkabout Vet, in Over Wallop.

“I saw the show being advertised on a website that I used to apply for acting and other work on. Apparently I was the first one to apply for the series.”

After filling out an application and taking part in interviews via Skype, Sarah was initially chosen as a reserve but the show’s bosses then picked to be one of the three women vying to be picked by the dater.

“It was quite nerve-racking, the day before I didn’t know what they were going to ask, but I prepared some answers and what I wanted to say.

"We got in the next day and they had totally changed the questions so we had to rehearse all the new answers.”

Sarah said before the cameras started to roll, the women could chat with presenter Paul.

“He loves his animals, dogs and sheep and so do I so we talked about that, we got on really well.”

The 34-year-old said she is not allowed to share too much about her show, but says it was an “amazing” experience as she has been a fan for years.

The Pewsey resident added: “I love the show I watched it when Cilla was on and now Paul.”

Blind Date airs on Sundays at 8pm.
