A SOUTHAMPTON living well hub is to move to a new location in the city.

The former Southampton Living Well hub run from Holy Family Church in Millbrook, Southampton has relocated to the newly refurbished Oaklands Community Hub in Coxford.

Southampton Living Well is a service for older people living in Southampton who are frail, elderly or living with dementia.

The service is run by local Social Care in Action, along with Age UK Southampton.

Alison Fisher, day opportunities manager for SCA Care said “We are delighted to be relocating our Southampton Living Well hub in this part of the city to the Oaklands Community Hub.

“We have worked hard to move everything across and are looking forward to using facilities that we didn’t have access to before such as a kitchen. Of course, it is even better to be helping other local charities at the same time.”

Dan Lally, contracts manager for Oaklands Community Pool added: “This is an excellent new venture for both of our organisations.

“Having recently refurbished the Hub it is exciting to have this amazing service operating from our premises!

“I very much look forward to working alongside Alison and all the team for many years.”

The new service will provide a range of community hubs across the city so that everyone wishing to use the service can easily access it.

There are a wide range of activities that take place throughout the day including gentle physical exercise and activities to help with wellbeing as well as trips out.

All activities are centred around the people that are visiting on any given day.

Volunteers at the former Southampton Living Well hub claimed the service had “outgrown” its previous location.

Oaklands Community Hub will provide more facilities including use of a kitchen and is fully accessible for those with mobility issues.

The Coxford hub was refurbished in July last year having previously been Coxford Community Centre.
