DETECTIVES investigating an assault on a 59-year-old man in Bishop’s Waltham have charged a teenage boy.
Officers were called at around 10.30pm on Friday, May 31 to reports of a serious assault in Battery Hill.
The man suffered a stab wound to his chest and was taken to hospital.
His injuries are not considered life threatening.
There have since been four arrests made in connection with this incident.
A 17-year-old boy from Winchester has now been charged with wounding with intent and possession of a knife blade in a public place.
He was due to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
Two of the people that were arrested, a 17-year-old boy from Chandler’s Ford and an 18-year-old man from Bishop’s Waltham, have been bailed until Friday 28 June.
A fourth person, a 15-year-old boy from Swanmore, has been bailed until Sunday, June 30.
