DELIVEROO has revealed the most popular dishes ordered by customers across Southampton.
The online food delivery service is celebrating its third birthday in Southampton and over the past three years, more than 150 restaurants have signed up to the platform.
Deliveroo said since its arrival in the town, it has created work for more than 400 people.
Data shows that 7.41pm on a Saturday is the most popular time for residents in Southampton to order their takeaway and American food is the most popular cuisine, followed by Mexican and Italian.
According to Deliveroo, the most popular dishes are:
Bacon cheeseburger from Five Guys
Chicken wrap from Roosters Piri Piri
Soft vanilla from Sprinkles Gelato
Bacon double cheese XL meal from Burger King
Burrito from Tortilla
Dan Warne, managing director of Deliveroo in UK and Ireland, said: “Our whole team here at Deliveroo are delighted that our rapid growth in Southampton over the past three years means that customers have more choice, restaurants are able to increase their revenue, and riders have opportunity to choose well-paid, flexible work.”
A company spokesperson said: “Deliveroo supports local businesses in Southampton, with 65% percent of its restaurant partners being local independent restaurants, creating new revenue streams for homegrown culinary talent.”
Deliveroo was founded in 2013 by William Shu and Greg Orlowski and works with over 50,000 restaurants and 50,000 riders worldwide. It operates in more than 500 cities across Australia, Singapore, Spain and the United Arab Emirates.
