EMERGENCY services have rushed to Southampton Royal Pier after a man climbed to the top of the navigation marker.
Officers are currently attending the incident in Mayflower Park and the Town Quay area following concerns raised for the welfare of a man on the pier.
A witness said that police, Calshot Lifeboat and Harbour Patrol are all at the scene, and that Mayflower Park has been closed.
The bystander added that the pier is "deemed to be an unsafe structure".
A Hampshire Police spokesperson said: "I can confirm that officers are currently in the Town Quay area following concerns raised for the welfare of a man at the pier.
"The incident is ongoing at this time."
