Saints loanee Jordy Clasie has held talks with AZ Alkmaar, according to Dutch media outlet De Telegraaf.
The report suggests that Clasie has no interest in returning to St Mary's and fighting for a position in Ralph Hasenhuttl's starting XI.
He joined Saints from Feyenoord back in 2015 for a fee believed to be £8 million but failed to impress in his first two seasons.
That saw him shipped out on loan back to the Dutch side last season, where he made 40 appearances.
Despite being interested in taking him back permanently, De Telegraaf claims that Feyenoord will be unable to afford his transfer fee.
This had led to Clasie reportedly opening up discussion with fellow Dutch club AZ Alkmaar's coach, Arne Slot.
