The cosy cottage also boasts its own decking porch and decking area where guests can relax in a wooden rocking chair, light candles and even warm up with an outdoor fire pit.

And it's sure to be a hit with Lorraine's family and friends as the presenter even joked that her beloved pet pooch Angus, who was wearing his own Christmas jumper in the pictures, was ready to move in.

This isn't the first time the television star has shared updates of her new home and over the past few months the 58-year-old has shared several snaps.

Over the summer, Lorraine posted a picture of her garden and decking area, which has a stunning six person wicker dining table with a wooden border, covered in fairy lights, surrounding it.

In the background of the snap could be seen a state-of-the-art fridge, white cabinets, its own island, matching coloured stools and terracotta tiles.

The host of ITV's Lorraine moved to Buckinghamshire to spend more time with her husband – and made a £70,000 profit in eight years on the seven-bedroom home in the Broughty Ferry area of Dundee which she sold for £845,000.

Kelly gave the house a makeover after buying it with her cameraman partner Steve Smith, who she married in 1992, for £775,000 in 2010. She replaced the double-glazed windows, installed an electric Aga cooker and overhauled many rooms.

The property was advertised for sale in November with an asking price of offers over £825,000. Records show it was purchased in April by a businessman from the East Midlands and his wife for £845,000.

Built in 1927, the house - which has a summer house, fish pond and enclosed walled garden - was designed by George C Morton of Bruce, Morton & Son and is described as 'one of the finest houses in Broughty Ferry'.

The chat show host previously revealed she had decided to sell up because she had grown tired of the weekly commute between Dundee and London and wanted to spend more time with her husband.

While she also revealed to Wayfair as part of their new campaign that she and Steve were keen to downsize - but still find a property with a large garden - after their daughter Rosie, 24, flew the nest.

She said: 'Steve and I want to be together a bit more but that's not to say we won't go home a lot as all our friends and family live up there. Dundee is home but we wanted to move somewhere closer to work.

'Getting up at 3.45 in the morning, every single minute counts. For years I've been travelling up and down from our home in Dundee to London to do my show, and not only has it been exhausting, we've really missed each other.'

She added: 'It's really about downsizing. The house was too big for just two people, and now is a really good time for us to be living close to London.'

Kelly has spent most of her career commuting between Scotland and London. For seven years she got the Sunday evening flight from Dundee to London, living in Kensington during the week, before flying home for the weekend.

She told the Dundee Evening Telegraph: 'The travel never bothered me. I never wasted that time. I'd either write one of my newspaper columns on the plane or do some research for a story.'

She insisted that she would still be a regular visitor to Dundee, saying: 'I could never not come home. 'I still have family up there, and of course I support Dundee United, for my sins, so I'll still be watching them when I can.'
