Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield nurse hangovers (and he nearly vomits into his helmet) as they arrive at This Morning on motorbikes following very boozy night celebrating NTA win

  • The co-hosts nabbed the Daytime TV gong for the ninth year running
  • The downed champagne and tequila at the afterparty as they celebrated
  • In 2016, Holly and Phil presented the show in their clothes from the night before after coming to present straight from their night out
  • The NTAs were held at London's 02 arena on Tuesday night

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were very hungover on This Morning on Wednesday, with a green-looking Phillip almost vomiting into his helmet.

The co-hosts turned up to work on motorbikes, driving directly into the studio after beating the likes of GMB to Best Daytime show, for the ninth year running.

Earlier, the pair failed to show their faces on the screen as they reached for the aspirin, during a teaser, with a tagline reading: 'We're live at 10.30, hopefully.'

Gotta get through this: The morning after the event, Holly and Phillip, 56, appeared very hungover on their ITV breakfast show as they turned up to work on motorbikes, driving directly into the studio

It had seemed as though Phil, 56, and Holly, 37, might not turn up to work at all, despite Holly sharing fresh-faced outfit pictures on Instagram earlier.

Alison Hammond, 43, stepped in to present the show, before they burst into the studio on motorbikes and wearing leather.

Holly was riding the bike side-saddle while clutching her award as she flashed a glimpse of her leg in a pretty red dress.

Alison started the show by saying: We had a big night last night after This Morning won a NTA for the ninth year in a row.

'We really appreciate you! Holly and Phil had the best time last night, I am not sure where they are, but don’t worry, I am here to take you through the show.

Holly then burst in and said: We are here!'

Phil said: Thank you guys, that was hell of a night out! I’m about to be sick in the helmet I think.'

'Tell you what, that was a hell of a club, I just put my hands in pocket [leather jacket] and that was a mistake.'

Holly said she was overjoyed that Phil was feeling worse than her this year.

He said: 'We never take it for granted, and we are so so grateful. It means so much to us, but it also means so much for our team - they were spread all over the place last night, some in the arena, some were watching it in bars, so for our team here in the studio and back in the office - this is yours guys, you are absolutely the best and thank you.'

Holly added: 'It was an incredible night, really emotional, I was all over the place, I think people think you come here every year, it means so much and people say the nicest things.

'The atmosphere at o2 was incredible last night, it was electric, really nice feeling for This Morning.'

At one point, Phil started scratching his head, he said: I’ve just forgotten I am on the TV, I’m sorry, I’m scratching my head,' before they fell about laughing.

Phil admitted that Sharon Marshall had smuggled tequila in her bag and Phil was telling everyone it was water.

Phil was left feeling sick as the Hairy Bikers made a full English breakfast, which left him feeling nauseous.

When asked if Phillip was OK, he replied, 'I’m right on the ragged edge here.'

The chefs laughed, 'You two are proper hanging aren’t ya? We feel quite sorry for ya!'

This Morning viewers took pity on the pair and sent in many of their hangover cures, whilst Phillip and Holly called for their agony aunt Deidre Sanders to help them, and pretended to call her helpline!

Looking at Holly laughing, Phillip said, 'You get very chatty when you’re hungover!'

Alison said, 'Did you get emotional over Ant and Dec?'

Phillip said, 'That was such a lovely speech. A big relief for them.'

Holly said, 'Oh my God, yes. It was so lovely… There were so many of those moments that were just, right...'

Holly and Phil celebrated their National Television Awards win for Best Daytime in spectacular fashion on Tuesday night, as they downed from a hip flask backstage.

It was a big night for Holly as she also took to the stage to accept the Bruce Forsyth Entertainment Award for I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, after standing for Ant McPartlin as he took a break from presenting duties.

At one point Holly struggled to contain her emotions as she spoke backstage after accepting the prize, as she looked stunning in a pink and black polka dot gown.

In their speech Phil said: 'We never take it for granted we love our family our This Morning family, the viewers that watch it are our family,' and turning to Holly he added: 'And I absolutely adore working with you.'

Holly then said: 'I am a very very lucky lady to have you in my life every single day. This is a special year, it's 30 years and still you vote and you enjoy the show and that means everything to us, without you this show would not be possible.'

Joined by many of this year's campmates, Holly accepted the prize in the absence of her co-host this year Declan Donnelly, who was filming Britain's Got Talent with his usual presenter partner Ant McPartlin.

She gushed: 'Oh my goodness me! Wow! I spoke to the boys earlier on today but they asked me to come here and say thank you so much for voting to a show which is so special to their hearts.

'I managed to jump through into my TV screen this year to one of my favourite shows and get a front seat, it's a show I'll never forget.'
