Geordie Shore star Holly Hagan has candidly and tearfully discussed her skin, after suffering a dramatic and painful breakout.

The 26-year-old reality veteran took to Instagram on Thursday evening to share the details of her skin woes, while also admitting the stress and upset caused by her acne had culminated in her cancelling a holiday and 'crying all night'. 

After littering her entire social media with saucy snaps and make-up shots, she was keen to impress upon her fans that all is not what it seems online.

Holly shot to fame at the tender age of 18 when she starred in the inaugural series of Geordie Shore in 2011, yet repeatedly left the house early on due to feeling bullied by her co-stars however she has returned to the show and remains a stalwart.

Having been candid about her mental health battles during her eight years in the spotlight, the star will no doubt help fans with her candid image and words. 

In the first post, which gave a glimpse of the breakout on her chin, she wrote: 'I can't even bring myself to post the video of my skin because it's that horrific and it's embarrassing...

'I'm the most stressed I've ever been in my life, my skin's broke out into tiny little white heads everywhere and my mouth is full of ulcers. I've cancelled my holiday with holiday with my friend and literally cried all night to my boyfriend.'

She admitted a recent photoshoot had also upset her as she went on: 'I did a shoot with the most beautiful girls yesterday and I can't tell you how self conscious I was...

'Obviously everyone was so lovely and reassuring but I'm looking in the mirror like my chin looks like it has Rice Crispies stuck to it, you feel so embarrassed.'

'I don't want you to look at the things I'm doing and think I have a perfect life when actually I'm sat crying into my Chinese...

'The point is just don't believe everything you see on social media, it's just a highlight reel of best bits, not real life. Everyone is normal and everyone has struggles and down days.'
