Thirteen years ago a photographer talked Helena Christensen into buying an old home in the Catskills, which is in upstate New York, about two hours from her apartment in New York City.

And the 51-year-old supermodel is sure glad he did as the property is where she is able to unwind from big city life.

This week the Victoria's Secret model took to Instagram to share a look inside her cozy dwelling which is filled with antiques as it sits among lush foliage and mature trees.

The quaint home is where she has been self-isolating with her dog Kuma for the past few months, though she returns to NYC now and then.

'Old homes, old furniture and objects...' she wrote in her caption.

'They come with a story, most are made by hand, colors are faded, paint is peeling off, they’re little works of art.. every time I look at them I discover something new.

'I like imagining who the person was who crafted them. I make up stories in my head about their lives. I like to think that a bit of their soul is in my home ♥️ .'

Helena told Vogue in 2018 that in 2007 photographer Fabrizio Ferri put a down payment on the home for her even before she had seen it.

The catwalk queen did not know what to expect when she finally saw the place.

But when she arrived at the house she saw potential with its charming structure.

The star went to work sketching designs for the home that she sent by mail to her contractors because they did not yet have email.

She told the publication she also sent wood samples and rocks to give them the vibe she wanted and looking back is not sure how it all got done right.

The result is a cozy hippie hideaway where nothing really matches but it all looks like it was supposed to end up together.
