Flames burned two units in a strip mall in Woodland Hills on Friday afternoon, June 14, but Los Angeles city firefighters were able to prevent two other units from catching fire, the Fire Department said.

The fire burned through a common attic at 20934 W. Victory Blvd. KTLA reported that the fire started in Trophyman and spread to West Coast Signage.

“While the fire unit sustained significant damage and fire extended to the adjacent unit, firefighters aggressively defended the two additional units being exposed under the common attic and prevented the fire’s spread,” the Fire Department said in a written statement.

One firefighter was being evaluated for a minor injury; in all, 106 fought the blaze and put out the fire in 49 minutes.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
