BKU delegation meets Haryana CM Khattar

A delegation of  Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) on Tuesday met Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal here to express their gratitude to him for providing relief to farmers with the decision of reducing the power tariff to almost half.

The BKU delegation under its president Rattan Mann also supported the Mhara Gaon, Jagmag Gaon scheme.  The representatives assured to generate awareness among the villagers regarding campaign to prevent power thefts. 

The members of BKU expressed that Bakaya Bijli Bill Niptaan Yojana of the State Government would provide great relief to consumers of the state. “It was a long pending demand of the BKU to provide power at cheap rates and now the Chief Minister has taken necessary steps  for providing the same to the people of the state. This would provide a great relief to the rural households,: the delegation said.

During interaction with the members of BKU, the Chief Minister said that now in Mhara Gaon, Jagmag Gaon Scheme, 2815 villages are getting 24 hours power supply at par with urban areas and   soon villages of two more districts would also be added in the series.

The Chief Minister said that micro irrigation is being promoted in view of declining underground water level. The State Government is also providing subsidies to farmers for adopting micro irrigation, he said.

On the demand of strengthening the passages in fields, the Chief Minister said that the e government has already decided to make the pavement of three karam and four karam paths.

On the demand of renovation of Sugar Mills, he said that the State Government is working on it and the renovation work of Karnal, Sonipat, Assandh and Panipat sugar mills has begun, whereas Tenders of Panipat Sugar Mills have been floated.

The Chief Minister also urged the members of BKU to generate awareness among rural people to reduce power thefts by initiating a social campaign and establish better coordination with Power Utilities.
