Mercury dipping slowly across Uttarakhand

The mercury is slowly dipping now in Dehradun with the minimum temperature dipping below 10 degree Celsius. The mercury  is likely to dip further though there is little likelihood of rain for the next few days.  The real winter setting in gradually, the minimum plummeted to 3 degree Celsius in New Tehri and 5 degree Celsius at Mukteshwar. According to the weather forecast issued by the regional meteorological centre, the sky is likely to be mainly clear to partly cloudy on Monday across the state, though rain is unlikely. While dry climate would prevail there is a possibility of mist forming in the plains of the state in the morning hours.  Dehradun might wake up to a foggy morning on Monday while the sky would remain generally clear to partly cloudy, as per the weather report issued by the Met department on Sunday. The mercury in the city is likely to remain the same on Monday as it is on Sunday with the minimum settling in the neighbourhood of 10 degree Celsius and the maximum hovering around 25 degree Celsius.

In Dehradun, the minimum temperature settled at 9.8 degree Celsius, one notch below the normal, while the maximum hovered around 25.2 degree Celsius, normal, on Sunday.

On Sunday, the minimum temperature recorded at Mukteshwar was 5.2 degree Celsius, normal, while the maximum temperature settled at 17.2 degree Celsius- one notch above the normal.  The minimum was 3.7 degree Celsius at New Tehri and the maximum was 17.5 degree Celsius, both normal and they were 8.1 degree Celsius, two notches below the normal and 26.2 degree Celsius at Pantnagar, one notch below the normal.
