The chief medical officer (CMO) Dehradun, Dr S K Gupta said that 34633 families in the rural and 36673 families in the urban areas have been included in the scheme. He, further, said that 12 Government and 18 private hospitals have so far been empanelled in the scheme and more private hospitals would be soon added.

CMO informed that the listed beneficiary should visit the nearest empanelled hospital for registration after which he would be issued the card. He, however, added that even if the card is not made the beneficiary’s family can avail the benefit of the scheme in the empanelled hospitals.

In all these hospitals, the State Government has appointed ‘Ayushman Mitras’ who would help the patients. In the second phase of the survey, more families would be included in the scheme, he said.

In Uttarakhand, the State Government has decided to include all the 23 lakh families of the State under the scheme. The Government intends to include all beneficiaries covered under the Mukhyamantri Swasthaya Bima Yojana ( MSBY), all serving and retired State Government employees and all the families not covered under any other scheme in the Atal Ayushman Yojana.

The scheme would cover 1350 types of the diseases and a cover of Rs 5 lakh per family per year would be provided under it.
