Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will address thinkers, policy analysts and diplomats on Sunday at 6 pm at India International Centre (IIC), New Delhi.
This is for the first time that any Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh would be delivering a lecture at the IIC after the State was formed on November 1, 2000 after being bifurcated from Madhya Pradesh.
The Group of Thinkers (GoT), a private think tank of Central India, founded by senior journalist Sujeet Kumar, is hosting the event in association with New Delhi-headquartered think tank Society for Policy Studies (SPS).
An estimated 150 thinkers, policy analysts from across the country and diplomats that include Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner to India Austin Fernando are expected to witness the lecture of Baghel, who led the Congress party to a stunning victory in Assembly polls late last year in the mineral-rich State.
India’s former foreign secretary Shyam Saran will conduct the function which is headlined “Changing Chhattisgarh under New Leadership”.
The Chief Minister’s detailed speech will be followed by a roughly 30-minute Question-Answer session.
