The 16th edition of Cricket Academy of Pathan’s (CAP) was inaugurated by ace cricketer Yusuf Pathan in Ranchi on Sunday, bringing joy to the aspiring cricketers of the State.

Addressing a press meet Pathan said, “We will provide all possible assistance to all aspiring cricketers and hope to become first preference for all the ambitious and aspiring cricketers in Ranchi.

Many students of CAP are getting selected for the district and State level matches through our world class training.

We have plans to open more academies in eastern region which will assist the budding cricketers to get proper training.”

CAP is currently working in fifteen cities including Delhi, Ludhiyana, Mainpuri, Kota, Patna, Morbi, Noida, Bengalaru, Rajkot, Surat, Sonipat, Port Blair, Raipur and Ludhiyana. Former Indian Cricket Team Coach, Greg Chappell and popular Coach from Australia, Cameron Tradell has designed the curriculum for the coaching programme.

Speaking about the objective behind opening the academy in Ranchi, Pathan said, “At present, there is no structured cricket academy in the State that is professionally run with a well-developed coaching programme structured by the experts of the field. We will be the first to offer it and hope to polish the talent of the aspiring players of this State.”

Giving details about the CAP Institute, Pathan said that the academy provides coaching for children to play cricket as well as those who aspire to become coaches – so they may understand the technicalities of the game and in return execute their learned skills on kids.

“The academy focuses on nutrition, psychology and the overall physical development of the students,” he said.

The institute has tied-up with England based cricket technology partner-Pitch Vision to track students’ performance in real time through a cutting edge technology programme. This technology bridges the gap between the Pathan brothers, coaches and students.  Harmeet Vasdev, Managing Director, CAP said, “We have observed a massive pool of talent in the Eastern region after the launch of our academy in Patna last year with students already being selected at district and state level.  Hence, we decided to open an academy in Ranchi as part of our expansion in this region. We aim to train and nurture the young pool of talent to produce more district, state and national level cricketers from the region.”
