Chhattisgarh Chief Secretary Sunil Kujur took a review of the preparation related to ‘Raipur Half Marathon-2019’ at the committee chamber in state assembly premises.
The annual marathon event is third in the series. The marathon will be organized by Sports and Youth Welfare Department on February 24.
Kujur directed the organizing department to ensure maximum participation of women participants as it would benefit the local players. He also directed sports department officials to hold regular sports activities so that players can get chance to enhance their skills.
Sports department secretary Siddarth Komal Pardeshi made a presentation to provide details of Marathon event. He said that last date for registration is February 15, through online. Till date around 21,000 sprinters have registered while national and international runners are also participants. For 13 different categories, the total cash prize money is Rs 32.66 lakh.
Different state sports organizations and government departments will coordinate for hosting the event. Sports celebrities of Chhattisgarh having won medal in international and national level will be part of event.
