CU announces scholarships for Jharkhand students

Chandigarh University announced academic scholarships worth Rs 10 crores for the students. This scholarship will be offered through an All India Scholarship based Entrance Test, CU-SAT (Chandigarh University Scholarship and Admission Test) that is being conducted online in the month of June at different centers in Jharkhand, informed Professor Prabhdeep Singh, Head Media, Chandigarh University

Interacting with the media persons at Dhanbad Singh said, the All India Entrance Test would offer scholarships to over 800 students in more than 50 Under-Graduate and MBA programs offered at CU. “In addition, CU will offer 10 per cent academic scholarship to the wards of school teachers and university or college professors of Jharkhand state as a mark of respect for their contribution towards building a strong future for the nation,” he added.

University will continue 5 per cent seat reservation in every course offered at university for the wards of serving or martyred defense personals besides an academic scholarship up to 25 per cent for the wards of the security, military and para-military forces who will be seeking admission in the various courses offered by the University, he said.

Professor Singh was in town to inaugurate Professional Career Counselling facility for the students of Jharkhand which would be available free-of-cost at University Regional Centre in Dhanbad throughout the year.

He said, CU has taken a nation-wide initiative ‘Lakshya’ that is aimed to impart free of cost professional career counseling facility for the students.

“The career guidance would be available free of cost to the students of Jharkhand throughout the year at university regional office at Shree Ram Plaza in Dhanbad, he said.

“Under the facility any matriculation, 10+2 or graduate students from the Jharkhand state could walk-in at the university regional office at Ranchi or Dhanbad for getting this professional guidance and would have to undergo a psychometric test based on which a comprehensive career advisory report would be given that would help them in taking the most crucial decision of their life which is choosing a career,” he added.
