Municipal Corporation, Raipur conducted a fire audit of all the coaching centres located in the city on Monday.
The inspection was done after a devastating fire at a coaching centre in Surat in Gujarat calimed 21 lives recently.
A team of the civic body took note of the contingency arrangements made by the centres to deal with fire accident.
According to official sources in the corporation, zonal commissioner in different groups inspected the coaching centers in the capital city. They specially took note of the fire fighting arrangements where the centers are running in multistory buildings.
Wherever a lacuna was found, the officials have given notices with an ultimatum of 24 hours to rectify the errors and to make necessary arrangements.
Stern actions would be taken against the coaching centers which will not follow the norms of corporation in their respective buildings, the corporation warned.
