To reduce traffic pressure on the Gurugram-Faridabad road and to reduce accidents, the first flyover on the stretch will be built in front of Bandhwadi village. The project plan is prepared by the Public Works Department (PWD).

A Detail Project Report (DPR) of the project has already been prepared. The estimated cost of the project is more than 11.50 crore.

The flyover will start after the ‘Valley View’ residential apartment located on the stretch and will finish one and a half kilometre before the toll plaza. Its length will be 800 meters. It will be four lanes. Service lanes will be built on either side. To go towards Bandhwadi village, the commuters and villages will use the underpass.

The PWD will soon start work on the stretch. It is scheduled to be launched by July 2020.The project will provide great relief to the commuters of Delhi, Gurugram and Faridabad. The flyover will also help reductions in accidents on the corridor.

An official said, a reason behind to build a flyover a dangerous turning point on the stretch near Bandhwadi village, several fatal accidents have occurred on the road. Also, the traffic slopes coming from Faridabad, it comes down from a much faster speed on the road and usually hits villagers and commuters who approach the road.

“The turning point near the Bandhwadi village is one of the most dangerous spots on the Gurugram-Faridabad stretch. Due to the acute turn, here the graph of accidents is quite high. A flyover on the dangerous spot will surely help to reduce fatal accidents,” PWD Executive Engineer, Sandeep Singh said.

“The flyover is being built in view of the frequent accidents happening on this stretch. During its construction, “its sharp turn will also be reduced. It will be completed by July next year. After its creation, traffic will be smooth too,” he said.

“The flyover would bring relief to tens of lakhs of commuters who struggle currently through unending traffic jams on the stretch which traffic cops find difficult to manage,” Singh said.
