On-farm innovation is the theme of a Wales YFC conference this weekend which aims to inspire the post-Brexit generation of farmers.

The federation’s 2019 Rural Affairs Conference is open to past and present Wales YFC members and is being held at Gelli Aur College Farm, Carmarthen, on Saturday, January 12, 10am-4pm.

Its objective is to equip delegates with the “vision and motivation” to work towards sustainable and profitable agriculture.

Speakers include former Sheep Farmer of the Year Neil Perkins and Jacob Anthony, the Farmers Weekly’s 2018 Young Farmer of the Year.

Also in the line-up are Gareth Davies, chairman of Nuffield Wales, and dairy farmers Jonny and Dulcie Crickmore, Gold award winners in last year’s British Farming Awards.

The other is a “Live Animal Selection” workshop with Wyn Williams and Mathew Brown from Dunbia.
