Police have appealed for witnesses to a crash that saw a motorcyclist flown to a specialist trauma unit with "serious injuries".

Emergency crews were called to Caernarfon Road in Bangor at around 4pm on Thursday after a local man in his 20s, riding an orange and black coloured "trails-type" motorcycle, was involved in a collision with a yellow Suzuki vehicle.

The air ambulance also attended the incident, which happened on the mini-roundabout outside the Union Inn, and the man was airlifted to Royal Stoke University Hospital.

The road was closed for more than four hours, and motorists asked to avoid the area, while specialist traffic collision investigators worked at the scene.

The Welsh Ambulance Service confirmed it was called to the incident at 4.03pm and sent an emergency ambulance and rapid response vehicle to scene in support of the Wales Air Ambulance .

Now an appeal has been launched for more information about the incident from any witnesses to the collision. North Wales Police is also seeking camera footage from the area.
