An "out of control" man who punched a till after being refused service at KFC has been locked up.

Gethin Owen was said to have become abusive during the incident at the restaurant in Bangor , and was jailed for 10 months.

The 30-year-old, of North Road, Caernarfon , was found by police to have a lock knife when arrested, Caernarfon crown court heard.

James Coutts, prosecuting, said he had 93 offences on his record, including for violence.

Defence barrister Dafydd Roberts said Owen had pleaded guilty to offences of criminal damage and knife and drug possession.

But he hadn’t brandished the knife which was in his pocket, said Mr Roberts.

Owen needed to address his problems while in prison, he added.

Judge Huw Rees told Owen that he had been drinking and taking drugs and was “out of control” on May 5, when police found the knife and amphetamine.

The judge told him: "You need to cool down and change your lifestyle."

A three-year criminal behaviour order was imposed, banning him from certain businesses including KFC.
