Neighbour tells of moment police told him to leave his home

Keenan Williams lives next door to the house that is on fire.

He has told me that around four homes were evacuated earlier this morning.

He said: “There are two fire engines and a few police cars. They evacuated the houses but everyone seems to be okay. I was in my room and heard my doorbell but because it was 5am I decided not act upon answering it due to the time. I then heard someone shouting hello and then I replied. They told me it was the police and there’s a fire next door and I need to evacuate. It was scary especially considering my room was on the side that joined both houses. From what I have heard three other houses were evacuated. There was lots of smoke coming from the house so I’ve had to just wait in my car as I didn’t want to get that close. I am not sure if there was anyone in the house but there is no ambulance service that I can see.”
