Four fire engines fought a boat blaze in Bangor during the early hours of this morning.

The yacht went on fire shortly before 12.35am in the Porth Penrhyn docks area.

Two engines from Bangor and two from Caernarfon battled the blaze.

One still remained at 8.30am spraying foam on the burned boat.

North Wales Police were also at the scene and an area of the dock had been cordoned off.

A North Wales Fire and Rescue Service (NWFRS) spokeswoman said: "We received a call at 12.32am to a boat on fire in the Porth Penrhyn area of Bangor.

"We sent four fire engines - two from Bangor and two from Caernarfon.

"We still have one pump at the scene that is using foam."

There is no update on damage and a fire investigation is set to get underway to determine the cause.
