Ant and Dec stepped away from their hosting role on Britain's Got Talent to shock the judges with a secret audition.

The 43-year-old presenting pair were joined by Britain's Got More Talent host Stephen Mulhern by donning dog disguises to try and fool the judges.

The producers were apparently 'in on the plan' as the trio took to the stage as the last audition of the current series.

The judges panel of Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams apparently had no idea that Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly were behind the act, when they took to the stage.

They revealed all though at the end of their performance, in Salford, Greater Manchester, and the cameras were still rolling to capture the moment.

A BGT source described it as "one of the moments of the day."

They continued to reveal that Ant and Dec "thought it would be a good way to finish things off," and along with Stephen, they "went down a treat with the crowd."

Fortunately Simon and his fellow judges saw the funny side and were "in stitches when they stripped off at the end."

It is not known how many judges wanted them through to the next round but it is probably safe to say that Ant and Dec will not be doubling up on their presenting duties any time soon.
