Police officers have sealed off West George Street in Glasgow city centre after a horror knife attack just 10 days ago.

Cops cordoned off the area on West George Street, at the corner of Pitt Street, just yards from where a knifeman went on a bloody rampage.

Badreddin Abadlla Adam went on a rampage at the Park Inn hotel last month, stabbing multiple people including a police officer.

He was shot dead by armed police.

Six people were taken to hospital, including Glasgow PC David Whyte who was critically injured while responding to the attack.

Adam was described by fellow asylum seekers as a "quiet, polite and decent guy" while staying at the staying at the hotel.

Officers have now returned to the street to remove barriers which had been placed around the crime scene after the attacks on June 26.

Police Scotland said: "There is no ongoing police incident at West George Street, Glasgow today, Monday, 6 July, 2020.

"The barriers that were in place following the incident in West George Street on Friday, 26 June 2020 are being removed and the road will be closed for a short period of time to allow this."

A spokesperson for Stagecoach stage: "Due to a police incident we are unable to service the stop at west George Street the nearest stop will be Cathedral street or Hope Street heading towards Easterhouse.

"We are sorry for the inconvenience this may cause."
