A husband who lost his wedding ring at a music festival has been reunited with it – four years after it vanished.

Graham Robertson lost the gold band at the Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival in 2014 and assumed he would never see it again.

That was until metal detectorist Eric Soane searched the festival site near Inverness.

Graham, from Crossmichael in Kirkcudbrightshire, said: “It slipped off my finger and I did look for it at the time but it had fallen into trampled down grass so I couldn’t find it.

“I filled in a missing item report but I didn’t think I’d see it again.

“One of my friends, who plays in a band that plays at Belladrum, noticed there was a post on Facebook that someone had found two rings on the site after doing metal detecting.

“I provided him with details of the ring size, the hallmark and things like that and once he was satisfied it was my ring, he posted it off to me.”

Graham, who married Michelle in 2005, said: “It’s fair to say my wife wasn’t best pleased with me at the time.

“I hadn’t replaced it as these things are expensive and I’m delighted to get it back.”
