Renfrewshire is set to be on the receiving end of more wild weather, after Storm Gareth hit the west coast of Scotland.

The weather front brought strong winds and heavy rain overnight, and although there has been some respite with some sunny spells this morning, the area is set to be inundated once more.

The Met Office's yellow weather warning remains in place today (Wednesday) until 3pm, with strong northwesterly winds forecast.

Meanwhile, a belt of heavy rain is due to hit from 8pm this evening until 6am on Thursday morning. Yesterday, SEPA were forced to issue a flood warning for Paisley, advising that Storm Gareth will generate increased amounts of water, with flooding to low-lying land, roads and esplanades possible.

Meanwhile the Met Office have warned of possible travel disruption, saying bus and train services may be affected, with some journeys taking longer, while warning a short term loss of power and other services remains a possibility.

Earlier, trains running between Ayrshire and Glasgow were badly disrupted after damage to overhead lines in Barassie, Troon.

As it stands, the service from Renfrewshire to Glasgow is unaffected and is running as scheduled.
