An annual fundraiser has collected almost £7500 for charity.
The Ashwood Scotland Foundation, which was set-up over a decade ago by the Bathgate-based construction company Ashwood Scotland, raised the money at its latest Annual Ball.
Over 140 guests attended the event held at the Hilcroft Hotel in Whitburn where a Brass Ensemble from Deans Community High School played Christmas carols during dinner.

A total of £7496 was raised with the funds being distributed between Friends of Chernobyl Children West Lothian, Simpson Babies and Marie Curie Hospice.
Archie Meikle, managing director of Ashwood Scotland Ltd and Trustee of the Ashwood Scotland foundation, gave a well informed and, at times, emotional speech about the sterling work undertaken by Friends of Chernobyl Children West Lothian who received a cheque for £5500 with the balance distributed between the other charities and worthwhile causes the foundation supports.
He said: “Our annual fundraising ball is always a humbling experience for everyone who attends and this year was no different.

“Since the Foundation was formed we are proud to have raised well over £125,000 for our nominated charities. It seems people’s generosity has no bounds.”
Ashwood, which was founded in 1999, employs 75 people.
It is currently active on a number of prestigious contracts for University of Edinburgh, City of Edinburgh & the Royal Zoological Society Edinburgh.
“The start of next year promises to be extremely active with a number of new projects coming on stream, all of which are due for completion in the first half of 2018,” added Mr Meikle.
