A pharmacy picked up a national award after being nominated by loyal customers.

Right Medicine Pharmacy in Winchburgh were awarded pharmacy of the year at the Scottish Independent Retail Awards.

The awards acknowledged the contributions of the country’s independent retailers to the overall economy as well as the diversity that is present in this sector.

They also recognised the business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit of individuals who own smaller chains, whose work is often overshadowed.

The competition was fierce but Right Medicine won the pharmacy of the year category and took the trophy home.

The company’s chief operating officer Richard Stephenson said: “We were stunned to win such a fantastic award and even more delighted that this award was nominated by a group of our customers in the village.

“Winchburgh is going through a huge growth in size and we are fully committed to continuing to provide an outstanding service to the local community.
