Mourners have gathered outside Pittodrie to pay their respects to an Aberdeen fan who tragically died after falling from a flat window.

Greg McKay’s body was found outside a property on Summerfield Terrace in the Granite City at around 10.10pm on Tuesday, May 12.

Emergency crews raced to the street in an attempt to save the 24-year-old’s life, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Dozens of Greg’s friends and family as well as supporters gathered outside Pittodrie to send their farewells.

His funeral has been limited to his immediate family due to the current lockdown restrictions put in place amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Since his tragic passing tributes have been flooding in.

He has was described as “one of a kind” who lived for his family, pals and the Dons.

His devoted girlfriend Bethany Burgess posted a moving tribute to her “best friend”.

She said: “Words can't even begin to describe how heartbroken I feel right now. Still doesn't feel real.

“Wish this was just a horrible dream and I could wake up and turn round and squeeze you.

“You made me the happiest I've ever felt and my family all adored you- as did everyone who knew you.

“You're the best thing that ever happened to me. I would do anything to give you one last hug. I love you with all my heart and I always will.

“I couldn't have asked for a better best friend and boyfriend. thoughts with Karen, Jim, his brothers and sister and the rest of his family.”

A pal said: “Taken too soon. Heartbreaking. Hope you knew how much you was loved by family and friends, by everyone.”

Kindhearted friends and family have raised nearly £8,000 since launching a GoFundMe in memory of the tragic Aberdeen man.

Police are not treating his death as suspicious following an investigation.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Following investigation, the death of a 24-year-old man Summerfield Terrace, Aberdeen, on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 is not being treated as suspicious.

"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
