A man has died after being found seriously injured in a Glasgow street.

The man was rushed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary hospital around 6.45am this morning but sadly died a short time later.

Emergency services raced to Duke Street in the east end of the city after receiving reports of the injured man.

He was found near to Hunter Street and the Tennent's Wellpark Brewery.

Police say they are not treating the death as suspicious.

Enquires into the circumstances are continuing but "are at a very early stage".

A Police Scotland spokesperson added: "Around 6.45 am this morning, Wednesday, 1 July, 2020, a man, thought to be in his 20s, was found seriously injured on Duke Street, near to Hunter Street, Glasgow.

"He was taken by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where he died a short time later."



Duke Street, between Barrack Street and John Knox Street, will remain closed until further notice.
