Scotland is set to bask in sunshine this weekend as a mini heatwave hits the country.

Forecasters from the Met Office predict temperatures could reach as high as 25C in Glasgow tomorrow with most parts of the country expected to break 20C.

On Sunday the mercury will drop to around 21C to 22C in all parts of the country as it continues to stay dry.

So, get the sun cream, the sunglasses and the shorts on because it's going to be a scorcher.

The temperatures are set to reach 25C in Glasgow on Saturday

Glasgow, the south west and Edinburgh will see the best of the weather on Saturday and and Sunday with tomorrow being the best day.

Aberdeen hit 22C today but it will drop to around 19C tomorrow, while further south in Dundee the mercury will be the same however it could reach 24C on Saturday.

In the capital there will be light winds and warm weather with temperatures hitting around 25C. On Sunday in Edinburgh it will be 22C for most of the day.

Across in Glasgow there will be a mist and fog patches early on, however that will clear and it will reach 25C.

It will be cooler on Sunday in the west with early 20s predicted.

A Met Office forecast read: "A few shallow mist and fog patches possible at first, otherwise bright with sunny spells.

"Warm or very warm and winds mostly light. Maximum temperature 25 °C."
