Mark McGhee is back in football after being named as Eastbourne Borough caretaker manager.

The former Aberdeen and Motherwell boss has been out of work since leaving Barnet in March 2018.

But now he's got a new job in the sixth tier of English football after joining the National League South side until the end of the season.

He replaces Jamie Howell as manager and it is McGhee's 10th job as a boss, as well as having a spell as assistant to Gordon Strachan with Scotland.

The former Celtic striker started his managerial career with Reading before spells with Leicester, Wolves, Millwall and Brighton in England.

He then joined Motherwell before moving to Aberdeen, where he spent six years as a player.

He was sacked in December 2010, just weeks after a 9-0 defeat to Celtic.

McGhee returned to Motherwell after a short spell at Bristol Rovers as well as his four years with Scotland.
