Clubs are set to do big business over these next few months and already pieces have been moved around the board and drama has unfolded.
David Turnbull's move to Celtic took the most bizarre of turns on Friday and a deal is now in serious danger of collapse. But Neil Lennon has other options in Rekeem Harper and Luca Connell. Odsonne Edouard won't be joining Lazio, contrary to reports in Italy. But Brendan Rodgers could yet try and tempt Callum McGregor to Leicester City. Olivier Ntcham remains on Marseille's radar but a deal could be difficult.
Rangers are reportedly set to fend off stiff competition to sign Charlton's Joe Aribo. Steven Gerrard will also add Sheyi Ojo to his ranks but the one fans really want is the return of Ryan Kent - although Middlesbrough are now in the mix. It's been all quiet on the Alfredo Morelos front of late but there's expected to be big interest in the striker before the end of August. A new bid for George Edmundson could yet be made.
In the north, Aberdeen are continuing their attempts to keep Gary Mackay-Steven at the club, while Hibs are focused on holding onto manager Paul Heckingbottom, who joined the club just four months ago.

Sheffield Wednesday are set to meet Motherwell’s £3million asking price for David Turnbull, according to a report.
The midfielder’s move to Celtic was put on the brink of collapse on Friday night after he rejected a contract from the Premiership champions.
Celtic then issued a take it or leave it statement on Twitter, insisting the club had made Turnbull a “magnificent” offer.
And now The Scottish Sun report The Owls will force their way into the picture by tabling a bid for the 19-year-old.
Larsson set for Helsingborg return
Henrik Larsson is set to return as manager of Helsingborg, according to reports in Sweden.
The Celtic legend was linked with a sensational Hoops comeback earlier this month as it was claimed he was set to join Neil Lennon’s backroom staff.
Record Sport later told how there was no truth to the rumours and Larsson is now on the verge of a second stint at Helsinborg.
He left the Swedish side in 2016 following relegation to the second tier and an unsavoury incident where a small group of fans attacked him and son Jordan on the pitch.
Harper set for Bilic talks
Celtic target Rekeem Harper is set to hold talks with new West Brom boss Slaven Bilic over his future.
Neil Lennon has scouted the 19-year-old midfielder, who is out of contract at the end of June.
The Baggies have made Harper two contracts offers but he’s yet to put pen to paper.
Bilic is due in England next week to begin his new role and he’s pencilled in talks with Harper as a matter of priority, reports The Express & Star.
Bellamy heading to Anderlecht
Former Celtic striker Craig Bellamy is set to join Vincent Kompany at Anderlecht.
Kompany will become the club’s player-manager next term and will appoint Bellamy to take charge of the youth academy, reports The Mirror.
The pair played together at Manchester City between 2009 and 2011.
Bellamy left his role at Cardiff City last year after being accused of bullying and using xenophobic and anti-English language.
Milan 'open talks' with Torreira
Earlier today it was reported that AC Milan were keen on a cash plus player deal for unsettled Arsenal star Lucas Torreira. Now a report in the Gazzette dello Spot suggests that talks between the Italian giants and the players representatives have begun.
The Uruguayan midfielder enjoyed an excellent season on the pitch with the Gunners, but has admitted to finding life in England hard.
With talks now reportedly opened between Torreira’s representatives, the figure being touted for him to move on in the region of £35 million.
Pogba set to force United exit 'by going on strike'
According to reports in Spain, Paul Pogba plans to force a move to Real Madrid by going on strike.
The Manchester United midfielder is thought to have set his heart on a move to Spain, where he would link up with his countryman, Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid.
Spanish outlet ABC have claimed that Pogba is planning to hand in a transfer request at Old Trafford, before going ‘on strike’ if his demands are not met.

Cammy Bell says Killie will appoint a Scottish manager
Ex-Kilmarnock goalkeeper Cammie Bell has said that he expects his old club to appoint a Scottish manager, despite Italian Angelo Alessio being the current favourite for the Ayrshire post.
Killie have said that they have spoken to candidates for the job and that an announcement will likely take place next week.
Speaking to the BBC, Bell said”
I think they’ll go down the Scottish manager route. Somebody who knows the market, the club and the league.”
Former Scotland under-21 plans to stay in England
Former Scotland youth cap Paul Coutts has said he sees his future in England after being released by Sheffield United.
Paul Coutts has said that he thinks he has another two or three years of football in England, before returning to his old club, Cove Rangers. The midfielder played most recently for Sheffield United and is now seeking a contract from a club in England.
Speaking to the BBC, he said:
“There’s always an appeal to come back home [to Cove Rangers]. It’s obviously something that would always appeal to you, but I think I’ll be in England to be honest with you. I think my future will be in England, and we’ll see after that, probably got another two or three years down south and then going to speak to John and see if he’ll get me a contract up here.”
Hummels set for surprise return to Dortmund
Mats Hummels looks set for an unexpected return to Borussia Dortmund in a deal worth £22 million.
Having won three straight titles with Bayern Munich, the 30-year-old has faced a somewhat uncertain summer under Niko Kovac.
Hummels originally transfered to Munich for £30 million in 2016, but started just 20 league games last season.
The Mirror reports that talks between Dortmund and Bayern are at an ‘advanced’ stage, after initial contact was made at the beginning of this week.
Heckingbottom remains hopeful loanees will return
Hibernian manager Paul Heckingbottom has not yet given up hope of bringing Marc McNulty and Stephane Omeonga back to Easter Road - after both enjoyed excellent spells in Edinburgh.
However, the Hibs boss says he won’t wait around forever and that “You can’t throw all your eggs into one basket.”
According to the Sun, Omeonga in particular is keen to make a return to play for the Hibees.
Heckingbottom has been quoted saying:
“Stephane wants to sign. We want to sign him but we will have to wait to see if we can do it.
“I don’t think Stephane has been in a better place, playing competitive first-team football every week. He fought to force his way into our side and deserved to stay in it.”
Huddersfield sign Tommy Elphick
Transfer movement in the Championship, as relegated Huddersfield sign Tommy Elphick from Aston Villa on a free transfer.
The defender spent much of last season on loan at Hull and before that with Reading.
Edouard to Lazio rubbished
Odsonne Edouard is not a target for Lazio, contrary to reports in Italy.
It was claimed earlier on Saturday that the Serie A side were lining up a move for the Celtic striker, who cost the club £9million last summer.
However, Record Sport Online understands Edouard won’t be heading to Rome this summer.
Talented de Ligt narrows decision to two clubs
Much sought after Ajax wonderkid Matthijs de Ligt has reportedly narrowed his decision to two clubs, after a host of teams made approaches to the youngster.
Champions League winners Liverpool have ruled out a deal due to the cost, despite de Ligt already having a working relationship with van Dijk from their time together in the national team. Instead, the choice seems now to be between Barcelona and PSG, with de Ligt set on playing once more in the Champions League.
According to the Mirror, Barcelona is an appealing option, but PSG lead the race with Champions League football, guaranteed first team action and the most lucrative offer on the table.
Middlesbrough in the mix for Ryan Kent
Middlesbrough have entered the already crowded race to sign Rangers transfer target Ryan Kent, according to Goal.
Liverpool have valued the player at between £9 and £12 million and appear to be favouring a permanent move for the winger. However, Gers boss Steven Gerrard is hoping that further development at Ibrox will appeal to the Champions League winning side.
Other clubs in the race to sign the in demand man are Leeds United and Aston Villa also in the running.
AC Milan in bid to land Arsenal's Torreira
AC Milan are hoping to land Arsenal star Lucas Torreira in a player and cash based deal.
The Italian giants are desperate to sign the 22-year-old midfielder, following an impressive first season in the Premier League.
AC Milan manager Marco Giampaolo, who worked with Torreira at Sampdoria, has previously said that he would be his “dream signing”.
However, Arsenal are not thought to be interested in selling the player.
Inverness and Morton consider former Celtic man Aidan Nesbitt
Ex-Celtic and Dundee United striker Aidan Nesbitt is the target of two different Championship clubs, reports suggest.
Inverness CT and Morton have both tabled offers for the 22-year-old according to the Sun, giving the forward time to make up his mind.
Nesbitt came through the youth ranks at Celtic before playing for Partick Thistle, Morton, MK Dons and most recently Dundee United.
Palace's Zaha plan
Crystal Palace will ask for Wilfried Zaha’s sell on clause to be cancelled by Manchester United in any deal for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
The defender is a top target for United and the Eagles signed Zaha from the Old Trafford club in 2015.
They got him relatively cheaply but added a huge sell on clause.
Now the Guardian are reporting that it could be cancelled as part of Wan-Bissaka’s potential move to Manchester.
Palace are expected to sell Zaha for as much as £80m this summer and it would be a huge boost for them to keep all of it.
Rangers transfer latest on Joe Aribo, George Edmundson and Ryan Kent
Steven Gerrard is continuing his flurry of early transfer activity targeting four new signings.
Joe Aribo, who is out of contract at Charlton Athletic, looks set to join the Ibrox side, while George Edmundson of Oldham Athletic is apparently keen on a Rangers move despite a rival offer being accepted for him.
Finally, the Ryan Kent transfer saga continues, while Sheyi Ojo’s loan deal appears to be done and dusted.

Bournemouth issue Fraser update
Ryan Fraser looks unlikely to leave Bournemouth this summer after the club issued a statement to ‘provide clarity’ on the player.
The Scotland star has been heavily linked with a £30million move to Arsenal that would see former club Aberdeen bank around £6m.
But the English Premier League club insist he’s an integral part of their side and are desperate to hold onto him.
That could leave him seeing out the final year of his deal if he doesn’t agree a new one, which would be a major blow to Aberdeen.

Derby begin Lamps talks
Derby are in talks with Frank Lampard over a new contract - according to a report.
The Chelsea legend is being linked with a move back to his old club as gaffer and Derby are desperate to keep him after an impressive first season.
And now the Telegraph report they are in discussions over a new deal to keep him.
Derby will play Rangers in a pre-season friendly on July 28.
Livingston use wrong Robbie Crawford to announce signing
Livingston just announced the signing of Robbie Crawford from Ayr - though they used the wrong image to share the news.
Rather than picturing the Ayr United midfielder in a tweet, they featured former Rangers player of the same name.

United consider Pogba replacement
Manchester United are reportedly putting together plans to replace midfielder Paul Pogba if he moves away this summer.
Rumours have already linked the World Cup winner with a move to Juventus or Real Madrid.
With the Frenchman possibly heading out the door, United gaffer Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is considering a move for Belgian midfielder Youri Tielemans. The Monaco player impressed on loan at Leicester last season, proving his Premier League quality, and could now be in the frame for a big move.
Monaco could be open to parting with the midfielder for the price of £40 million.
Coutinho issues Barca update
Philippe Coutinho moved to Barcelona 18 months ago to win the Champions League.
Since then, he has saw former club Liverpool reach the final twice and win it this season. It’s not been the perfect time for the Brazil star who readily admits he hasn’t been good enough for the Spanish giants.
His time there has been hampered by a loss of form and he’s often made the scapegoat for poor performances by an expectant fan base.
Manchester United and Chelsea have both been linked with a bid to bring him back to the Premier League, as have former club Liverpool.
DONE DEAL! Crawford joins Livingston
Livingston have announced the signing of midfield Robbie Crawford on a 2 year deal from Ayr United.
Speaking about the move, Livingston boss Gary Holt said that Crawford had been in consideration for 6 months.
He said: “Davie and I have been monitoring Robbie for the last 6 months and I know he has been on Davie’s radar for a few seasons now. The opportunity came up to sign Robbie and we both felt it was an opportunity we had to take.
“To be honest, we are a little bit heavy on midfielders but we couldn’t take the chance on Robbie going elsewhere and losing the chance to get his signature.
“He is a good age with plenty football experience and is a player who gives you everything on the park. He is very versatile and can play numerous positions, and we both feel he will be a fantastic signing for us all.”
Serie A team considering Celtic's Edouard
Roman giants Lazio are thought to be considering a move for Celtic forward Odsonne Edouard, one year after he moved to Glasgow on a permanent deal.
According to LaLazioSiamoNoi , translated by the Laziali, the Serie A side have listed Edouard as a potential replacement for Felipe Caicedo this summer.
If Edouard were to make the move, though, it is thought that his fee would be close to double the €10 million he signed for last summer after 14 league goals with Celtic.
Frank Lampard is apparently already planning his backroom team - as Chelsea consider offering him a tenure position.
The Derby County manager has been linked with a managerial role at Chelsea, with Maurizio Sarri looking set to join Juventus.
If Lampard is to be offered the job, he is expected to take his current assistant manager, Jody Morris, with him.
However, the Sun has also reported that Lampard is eyeing a reunion with Didier Drogba, who he hopes to bring on board as a strikers coach.
Former Celtic defender Erik Sviatchenko set for Turkish move
The Turkish media are reporting that ex-Celtic defender Erik Sviatchenko will join Trabzonspor for £2 million within the next week.
The Danish defender played 63 games under Brendan Rodgers in Glasgow, before returning to Midtjylland in Denmark in 2018. While still at Celtic he won three Premiership titles, one Scottish Cup and two League Cup Trophies.
De Ligt goes house hunting in Paris
Matthijs de Ligt has been house hunting in Paris, according to a report.
The defender is heavily linked with a move to PSG with the French giants jumping to the front of the queue for the Ajax defender.
And his girlfriend has been in the French capital to look at properties.
De Ligt decided to go on holiday after the Nations League final and has been keeping his cards close to his chest but De Telegraaf report Annekee Molenaar flew to Paris with De Ligt’s mother to look around.
Abraham wants Chelsea stay
Tammy Abraham has refused to rule out a return to Aston Villa but admits he wants to break through at Chelsea instead.
The forward was a huge success at Villa Park last season but with a transfer ban looming, he could be handed a chance at Stamford Bridge.

Rangers fans angry at Lee Wallace exit silence from club
Rangers fans have been left fizzing at the club over their apparent refusal to comment on Lee Wallace’s exit.
The former Ibrox captain was reunited with Mark Warburton at QPR after agreeing a two-year deal and supporters are unimpressed with Rangers for not even acknowledging his time at the club in a tweet.
Wallace was involved in a row with the club after being suspended and fined over a bust-up with former boss Graeme Murty following a heavy Scottish Cup semi-final defeat to Celtic.
