Addicts were snapped casually taking drugs intravenously in an upmarket part of Brighton Beach – just yards from families with children.

The shocking incident was witnessed and photographed by staff photographer Adam Gerrard.

He told Daily Star Online: “It was right on the beach in front of thousands of people.

“Everyone was watching out of the corner of their eye, but I think people just wanted to keep their head down because they didn’t want any trouble.

“I thought they were lighting a cigarette at first.

“They were crowding around someone and I thought maybe they were trying to light a cigarette by shielding it from the wind – but then I could see a needle.

“They left pretty quickly.”

UP MARKET: The three men injected in a posh area of the beach

The three brazen men injected – what appears to be heroin – in an upmarket part of the beach and only yards away from fish restaurant Riddle and Finns.

Adam added: “It was about 100ft from an upmarket restaurant and the Brighton music hall.

“So it wasn’t in a rundown area.”
