A two-legged tie against Porto is all that stands between Jurgen Klopp's side and a place in the semi-finals, before getting the chance to reach their second successive Champions League final on June 1.

The two teams met in the Round of 16 stage last season, with Liverpool dishing out a 5-0 hammering to the Portuguese outfit in the away leg.

Sadio Mane grabbed a hat-trick with Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino also scoring in a magnificent display.

Iker Casillas probably counted himself fortunate to be on the bench rather than in goal for Porto on the day.

But the Real Madrid legend has warned Liverpool that they can expect more fierce resistance this time around.

"We do believe we can go through to the next stage," Casillas said, after confirming he will end his career at Porto.

"That is our mentality. There is no other possible thought.

"It is not a tie between a big and a small side.

"And we should not look back to what happened last season when they knocked us out of the competition.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says he won't take Iker Casillas and Porto lightly

"We have a huge respect for Liverpool and every other club involved in the Champions League.

"But I believe the other teams also respect Porto.

"They should know we have top players capable of facing any other side."

Casillas' warning comes amid news of:

- Trent Alexander-Arnold revealing which Premier League game could be the most vital for his team

- James Milner explaining how his sub appearance at Fulham did not quite go to plan

- Jurgen Klopp speaking on why Mohamed Salah's goal drought does not worry him

Iker Casillas kept a clean sheet in the second-leg vs Liverpool last year

Liverpool have never lost a European match against Porto in six games.

But Reds boss Klopp stressed after the draw was made that no-one within the Anfield dressing room will be underestimating their opponents.

He said: “I could not be further away from thinking it’s the best draw because it isn’t – it is just the draw, it’s the opponent we have to prepare for and that’s all we will be thinking about.

“We have a specialist for Porto in our own team in Pep Lijnders being there in the past – and he always speaks with so much respect for that club.

"We will have plenty of information and that’s what you need before a game, but you still have to play it. Now we know it, let’s prepare.”
