Truck-stop robbers lead Midlothian, Cedar Hill officers on chase, police say

One suspect took some case from Love's Travel Stop, then fled along with two others in a maroon Chrysler toward Cedar Hill.

Three people have been charged in connection with a Wednesday-morning robbery after leading Midlothian and Cedar Hill police on a chase following a truck-stop holdup in Ellis County.

The robbery happened around 3 a.m. at the Love's Travel Stop in the 1500 block of West Main Street in Midlothian. According to police, a robber walked into the store, displayed a handgun and took cash from the register.

He then got into a maroon Chrysler with two others inside and fled north on U.S. Highway 67 toward Cedar Hill.

Midlothian police gave chase and watched as the car briefly pulled over and someone threw something out the window before the car took off again. The discarded object turned out to be a stolen Glock 23 handgun, police said.

Midlothian officers followed the car into Cedar Hill, where it took the Belt Line Road exit and turned into a shopping center parking lot in the 300 block of U.S. 67. The car stopped, and Midlothian and Cedar Hill officers arrested the three people inside without incident, police said.

Two men and one woman were booked into the Midlothian jail Wednesday, police said. One man, Sammy Lee Kizzee, faces charges of evading arrest with a vehicle and aggravated robbery, while the other man, Anthony Alvin Givens, is being held on an aggravated robbery charge. The woman in the car, Andrea Nicole Overton, was charged with public intoxication.

Police said that Kizzee was the driver and Givens was the man who went into the truck stop.
