Taylor Walter was arrested within about two hours on a preliminary charge of murder, but later was released pending further investigation.

At the time of his mother’s death, Walter was under indictment for a felony drug case and had a warrant for his arrest for OVI from Clark County.

The prosecutor’s office said despite this, Walter was released on a conditional own recognizance bond over strong objections from the prosecutor.
