Hyderabad: Angry with her husband, who indulged in a quarrel after coming home drunk, a woman has chopped off her husband’s genitals. The victim is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital and his condition is stated to be stable.
According to the police, the couple identified as Sher Singh, 26, and Santhoshi, 24, along with their two children aged below four years, had moved to the city about 10 days ago. They hailed from Rajasthan and had migrated in search of livelihood. Sher Singh had taken up a job at a marble factory in LB Nagar, while Santhoshi was managing the house.
On Saturday, Sher Singh came home drunk. He picked up a quarrel with his wife over some petty issue. Angered with her husband’s behaviour, Santoshi picked up a kitchen knife and chopped off her husband’s genitals, said the police, who admitted the victim to Osmania General Hospital after receiving information from the neighbours of the victim.
LB Nagar inspector V. Ashok Reddy said “The couple fought over a petty issue and Sher Singh was in a drunk condition and their children were sleeping. His wife got angry and chopped off his genitals with a knife. He is currently undergoing treatment and is stated to be stable.”
Based on a complaint from the victim, a case under Section 327 of the IPC has been registered against Santhoshi. She is currently attending her husband at the hospital and has not been arrested yet, said the inspector.
