Hyderabad: Rachakonda SHE teams apprehended 59 harassers and cases against 52 of them in the last one month. Out of these 59, 13 were minors.
In one of the cases, a 23-year-old girl was harassed on her way to college. According to the police, “She was walking to the bus stop from Balajinagar to Panama crossroads to board a bus when a man came came in the opposite direction and groped her.”
The police registered a case under Section 354 of the IPC. During investigation, cops verified the CCTV footage and identified the bike and arrested the accused, Shaik Khader, 20, a mechanic from Yakutpura and remanded him to judicial custody.
In another case, a sales boy at a footwear shop at Keesara sexually harassed a 26-year-old woman.
According to the police, “The accused Ch. Rakesh, 30, under the pretext of showing her international footwear and touched her without her consent twice. The third time he grabbed her.” The victim lodged a complaint at Keesara police station and the cops arrested the accused.
