The owner of Wilmington's WiLDWich sandwich shop has closed his King Street operation almost five months after its grand opening.

This week, the doors were locked and the lights turned off at the eatery in the bottom floor of the Renaissance Centre building.

A sign on the door this week at WiLDWiCH sandwich open at 405 N. King St. told customer the location has closed.

"We are sorry to say WiLDWiCH has closed this location. We are still open at 800 Delaware Ave.," read a blue sign hanging on the door of the shop directly across from the Leonard L. Williams Justice Center, formerly known as New Castle County Courthouse.

The WiLDWiCH food truck also is still operating, according to the sign.

"Thanks for everything," it read.

WiLDWiCH owner Mike Stanley started his popular WiLDWiCH food truck in 2014. Two years later, he added a brick-and-mortar cafe at 800 Delaware Ave. in downtown Wilmington.

In March, Stanley added a second cafe at 405 N. King St. when he took over the former Cocina Lolo Mexican eatery.

Stanley could not be reached immediately Friday for comment.

The Cocina Lolo restaurant was run by La Fia Bistro owners Andrea and Bryan Sikora,  who operated the 45-seat eatery for about three years. They closed it in August 2018.

The WiLDWiCH cafe was open weekdays for breakfast and lunch. The menu was a duplicate of the Delaware Avenue location.
