Delaware school closings, cancellations, delays for Tuesday, Feb. 12

In anticipation of another round of rain, snow and sleet, Delaware schools are taking precautions.

By Monday evening, forecasters predicted another 3 inches of snow by Tuesday morning, putting New Castle County on a winter weather advisory until Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Here is a list of which schools have decided on delaying or canceling classes for Tuesday, Feb. 12:

Appoquinimink School District

Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay. Any changes will be notified by 6:45 a.m. Tuesday. 3-year-old AM Preschool is canceled.

Brandywine School District

All schools will operate on a 2-hour delay.

Caravel Academy

Caravel Academy will operate on a 2-hour delay. Before-school care opens at 9 a.m.

Charter School of New Castle Elementary

Charter School of New Castle Elementary will open 2 hours late.

Charter School of New Castle Middle

Charter School of New Castle Middle will open 2 hours late.

Charter School of Wilmington

Charter School of Wilmington will open 2 hours late.

Christina School District

All Christina School District schools and offices will operate on a 2-hour delay.

Colonial School District

All Colonial schools and offices will operate on a 2-hour delay. There will be no morning preschool.

Delaware State University

All Delaware State University locations will operate on a 2-hour delay

Early College High School

Early College High School will operate on a 2-hour delay schedule. 

East Side Charter School

East Side Charter School will open 2 hours late.

Thomas A. Edison Charter School

TECS will operate on a 2-hour delay schedule.

First State Military Academy

First State Military Academy will operate on a two-hour delay.

Freire Charter School 

Freire Charter School will operate on a 2-hour delay. 

Las Americas ASPIRA Academy

ASPIRA will operate on a 2-hour delay.

MOT Charter School

MOT Charter will open 2 hours late. 

New Castle County Vocational-Technical School District 

NCCVT high schools will open 2 hours late. Adult education and Delaware Skills Center will open 1 hour late.

Newark Charter School 

Newark Charter School will open 2 hours late.

Odyssey Charter School

Odyssey Charter will open on a 2-hour delay.

Providence Creek Academy

Providence Creek Academy will operate on a 2-hour delay.

Red Clay School District

Red Clay schools will operate on a 2-hour delay.

Smyrna School District 

All Smyrna School District schools and offices will operate on a 2-hour delay. There will be no early morning childhood program.

Ursuline Academy

Ursuline will operate on a 2-hour delay. 

University of Delaware

UD's Newark campus will open at 11 a.m. Classes scheduled before 11 a.m. will not meet.
