Homesense, owned by the company behind discount retailers TJ Maxx, HomeGoods and Marshalls, is opening a store in the Christiana Fashion Center on April 4, according to the store's website.

It will be the third store in the extended Philadelphia metro area, the company said in a press release, and it will take up an empty storefront next to the HomeGoods and Marshalls at 3050 Fashion Center Boulevard.

“We’ve seen an incredibly positive customer response to the Homesense stores we’ve already opened," said John Ricciuti, president of HomeGoods and Homesense in the U.S, in a statement.

"As the U.S. home market continues to grow, we are excited to bring consumers an expanded selection of quality merchandise at incredible prices, along with a new shopping experience in which they can discover and curate the home of their dreams."

Hannah Bramhall, a spokesperson for the company said: "Our real estate team is always looking for great new market opportunities and we are thrilled to be coming to Christiana. We look forward to being an exciting new home shopping destination for the Christiana community."

The store will offer an array of large-scale furniture, a rug emporium, an extensive lighting department that includes hanging chandeliers and a “general store” featuring everything from hardware to storage needs.

Homesense, an off-price home furnishing store, is getting ready to open a new store in the Christiana Fashion Center.

Customers will also be able to shop for seasonal items including outdoor entertaining must-haves and holiday décor as well as artwork, decorative accessories and gift-wrapping essentials.

"The sensory experience at Homesense can’t be replicated online or in any other store – you can touch, feel and sit on the wide variety of merchandise before taking it home, from rows of leather couches to color-coded walls of throw pillows," the company says, making an argument for shopping for furniture in person versus online.

In fact, you cannot order Homesense merchandise online, though you can order gift cards on its website and see pictures of some of its products.

For its grand opening on April 4, the store will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
