Wilmington police are investigating a fatal shooting in the 300 block of N. Franklin St. that happened at about 10:11 a.m. Sunday.

Police say they found a 48-year-old male gunshot victim who was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries. The driver's side window of a black sedan with a Pennsylvania license plate at the scene appeared to be shot out.

The shooting took place about a half-mile away from where two Delmarva contractors were shot in July.

Neighbors at the scene Sunday said they didn't hear gunshots.

Police say anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact Detective Brandon Mosley at 302-576-3646. You can also provide information to Delaware Crime Stoppers at 800-TIP-3333 or delaware.crimestoppersweb.com.

This is the second shooting in Wilmington this month, according to a Delaware Online/The News Journal database.
